Anime/Japanese Culture Club’s next meeting is Monday, May 1.


DECA sign ups are due this Friday, April 28th, to Room 218. All T-shirts not paid with your dues will be $12 instead of $6 at the beginning of next school year, so get yours in before Friday. Anyone who is taking a marketing or business class and is interested in DECA, come get a form from Mrs. Spitznagel, or just come in to find out more! Come see us!


Yearbooks will be distributed to everyone who purchased one in advance during TAP on Friday, April 28 in the lower commons.  If you don't have TAP, you can pick up during the lunches. You must have your school ID or photo ID to pick up your book.  If you didn't buy a book in advance, the limited number of extra books will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting after school in room 106 on Monday, May 1 for $78 in cash or a check written to Mehlville Reflector until they sell out.  Please have exact change with you if purchasing a book.  


April 24-28, NHS is sponsoring a Diaper Drive to benefit the St. Louis Area Bank.  We will be holding a TAP competition next week to collect diapers.  Each grade level TAP that brings in the most diapers will win a doughnut party provided by NHS.  $1 donations will equal 5 diapers.


April 24-28, NHS will also be hosting a Diaper Drive Spirit Week:

  • ·-Monday: Nostalgia Day (Favorite kids TV show/movie)
  • ·-Tuesday: Safari Day (hunting for diapers)
  • ·-Wednesday: Career Day (what do you want to be when you grow up?)
  • ·-Thursday: Jersey Thursday (favorite sports icon as a kid)
  • ·-Friday: MHS day


Executive Character Captain applications are out and have been sent to their emails or they can pick up a hard copy in room 324.   Applications are due Friday, April 28th in Room 324.


*In celebration of Prom, Senior Picnic and Special Olympics the seniors would like to have a Spirit Week NEXT WEEK.  


The days are as follows:


Monday - USA

Tuesday - College Day

Wednesday - Wildlife Day

Thursday - Hat Day (by a sticker for $1 to wear your hat, all money will be donated to Special Olympics)

Friday - Hawaiian/Nautical Day


We are need of A+ math tutors for our after school tutoring program.  If you can tutor in math after school, please see Mrs. Luck in the office and she will let you know the dates.  


We are needing an A+ tutor during TAPs for a student in any subject.  If you need hours are willing to tutor during TAP, please let me know ASAP.  Thanks.

Attention Spring Dual Credit Students: Be aware that spring course registration is now open on both the SLU-1818 and UMSL-ACP websites. MBU and MSU registrations will be available in your classrooms. If you have any questions, check with your dual credit teachers or Mrs. Neighbors regarding signing up for your courses. Pay attention to all deadlines. If you are interested in applying for a Spring Dual Credit Scholarship, applications are available in the Counseling Center.


Cornerstone will meet on Wednesday mornings in the Auditorium lobby at 6:45 am.  Both students and staff are welcome to join.

 Attention Seniors!!!! I just wanted to send out a friendly reminder that the scholarship and award deadline for Senior Recognition Night is May 1st. Please bring in your award letter to Mrs. Genthon or Mrs. Hellwig in the counseling office, stating what the award is for and the amount . Even if you have received an award or recognition that does not have a dollar amount we would like to recognize you for all of your hard work! 


Senior Prom Permission Slips and Guidelines will be available at Mrs. Luck's desk and the reception desk beginning this week.  Every student and guest must turn in signed permission slips with their ticket purchases.  Also, be sure to read the rules and guidelines.  Prom tickets will go on sale Monday, April 24 through Monday, May 1.  Tickets will not be sold after May 1 (no exceptions).  


Seniors should start bringing your acceptance letters to Mrs. Genthon in the Counseling office for the Wall of Acceptance.  If you have received any awards or scholarships, please bring that letter in as well for Senior Night.


2017 Audrey Walton Youth Leadership Conference

July 20--22, 2017

 Audrey Walton Youth Leadership Conference is an important part of the Show-Me State Games and is geared towards incoming juniors and seniors in high school for the ’17-‘18 school year. The three day conference focuses on teaching youth about leadership, higher education, and a healthy lifestyle.   Students have the opportunity to make new friends, become familiar with the University of Missouri-Columbia (the conference site), and acquire valuable information for successful futures.  Thanks to the generous support of Ms. Audrey Walton, there is no charge for the conference. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office and are due May 12, 2017.  For additional information, please contact your grade level counselor.




A local resident, Greg Laumann, is looking for high school student to do yard work for him.  Pay is $8-10 an hour.  He is located off Union Road by Grasso Fields.  His phone number is 314-540-9133. 


Concord Animal Hospital has 2 immediate opening for Kennel Staff.  One to two nights per week from 4-8 pm.  Some weekends and holidays.  Must be 16 years of age or older.  If interested, call 314-843-9055 and ask for Mary or Trish.


The 2017 High School Summer Acceleration Enrollment Packet is now available.  Please stop by the Counseling Center for an application.

  •  Parent Notes: Please remember that outside lunches, flowers, balloons and other items are not allowed to be delivered to MHS for students by you or others.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
  • Absences: If your student is absent from school, please call the attendance line to report their absence at 314-467-6020. Please state and spell your name, your student's name, their grade level, and the date(s) they are absent. Thank you.
  • Early Dismissals: Parents, if your student has an early dismissal, please remember to call the attendance office ahead of time so that your student will be able to leave on time as needed. 
  • School Closings Due to Inclement Weather:  The School Reach phone obtained through the district internet site at in an alert box at the top of the page. Additionally, you may tune in to TV channel 5, channel 4, channel 2 and 1120 or 20 AM Radio.
