*Shout out to Seniors Grant Robertson and Cassie Hayden.  Grant was named a 2018 Missouri Scholars 100 and Cassie received an Honorable Mention for the 2018 Missouri Scholars 100.  Congratulations to both of you for this high achieving honor.


*Shout out the to the following MHS Majorettes who qualified to compete individually in the National Twirling Pageant this summer at Notre Dame University: Leah DePasquale, Hanna Carter, Jeni Holdegraver, Emily Sellers & Vena Prudent.   Way to go ladies!

Leah DePasquale got a Twirling position for the Purdue All American Twirling Team!!

Hanna Carter got a Twirling Position at the University of Arkansas!

....we are excited to see where Amy Holdegraver will end up twirling. She is hoping for the University of Florida or Mississippi State.

*Parents and Students:  Please join Robert Riley, Co-Founder and Vice President of Missouri Network For Opiate and Recovery, on March 21st in the William Nottelmann Auditorium from 6-7:30pm. There are no stereotypes when discussing those that are at risk of Opiate Addiction. We want our community and parents to become more aware of the Crisis we are facing.  So please come out and join us on Wednesday. We hope to see you there!


*Attention Juniors who signed up to take the ACT on April 24: There will be a pre-administration session required for all juniors taking the April 24 District ACT during TAP this Friday, March 23. After attendance, juniors will report immediately to the cafeteria so we can start by 9:00. Please bring a #2 pencil. (South Tech Students taking the ACT will also bubble the required sections on Friday in their 5th block courses.) 


If you are no longer using your elevator key, please return it to Mrs. Pizzella in the office to avoid being put on the fine list.  If you have lost the key, the cost is $10.00.


LOST AND FOUND:  The lost and found is located in the main office by Reception/Attendance.  It is overflowing with items looking for their owners.  Please check to see if you have misplaced or lost something.  Any items not claimed by March 23rd will be donated.


Attention Juniors: Western Illinois University has reserved a charter bus to take 50 St. Louis juniors to their campus for a one-day visit on Wednesday, April 18. This is a free trip for any junior with a 3.0 GPA or higher. If you want the information regarding registration for this trip, please email Mrs. Neighbors and she will forward you the details.


Several MHS students’ artwork were accepted into the 2018 Young Artists' Showcase exhibit at the St. Louis Artist Guild. March 8 - March 31, 2018. Young Artists' Showcase is a juried, all-media exhibition of artwork created by high school students between 15 and 19 years old residing within 150 miles of the St. Louis Artists' Guild. The annual Young Artists' Showcase has supported artistically inclined students for over 60 years. The Guild provides an opportunity to exhibit in a professional gallery. This is a juried show meaning that participants’ work was judged by a juror, Ruth Reese, and selected to be in the art show.

Seniors - Scholarships



The 2018 Mother's Club Scholarship application is now available in the Counseling Center.  Application deadline is April 16, 2018.


The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation, Mehlville Retired Educators, and Mehlville National Education Association Scholarship Application is now available in the Counseling Center.  Application deadline is March 22, 2018.


Summer Opportunity


Paid high school internship with Missouri Coalition for the Environment. Interns will learn about water quality, public lands, and climate change.  Must be able to work 120 hours hours between June and August. For more information, visit:

Concord Animal Hospital is looking for a Room Person.  Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 pm and every other Saturday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm.  Duties include

  1. Putting clients in rooms for appointments
  2. Cleaning rooms
  3. Filling prescriptions
  4. Answering phones
  5. Scheduling appointments

  • Absences: If your student is absent from school, please call the attendance line to report their absence at 314-467-6020. Please state and spell your name, your student's name, their grade level, and the date(s) they are absent. Thank you.
  • Early Dismissals: Parents, if your student has an early dismissal, please remember to call the attendance office ahead of time so that your student will be able to leave on time as needed.
  • School Closings Due to Inclement Weather: The School Reach phone obtained through the district internet site at in an alert box at the top of the page. Additionally, you may tune in to TV channel 5, channel 4, channel 2 and 1120 or 20 AM Radio.

Student Parking:  MHS is sold out for parking this year.  Some local businesses rent parking spaces, however MHS is not affliated with those businesses.  If your student is parking at a business, please make sure they have secured an agreement with that facility.  Unauthorized parked vehicles are subject to being towed at that vehicle’s owner’s expense.
