SHOUT OUTS

 

The Mehlville Debate Team competed again nearly 40 other schools this weekend at the Marquette Tournament. The public forum debate team of Ajla Mujkic and Ajla Babic finished third out of almost 90 teams. Erica Rawizza finished fourth out of almost 70 debaters in Lincoln-Douglas. Ajla Mujkic also made it into the finals in Congressional debate.

Special Olympics will be held May 4th (B Day).  If you would like to participate in this event, please stop by the Athletic Office.  You can pick up an application to be a Buddy, Timer or have a booth in the Olympic Village.  If you want to earn 4 A+ hours, you will need to be a Buddy.  In order to participate in the Village, you must be in a group of 4 people who are all members of the same club or sport team.  Feel free to stop by the Athletic Office if you have any questions.

 

REMINDER ~ Spring Sport Tryouts will begin February 27th (Water Polo begins February 20th).  All forms and athletic fee must be turned in to the Athletic Office "prior" to attending the tryouts.  If you participated in another sport this school year, you will still need to pick up a new "participation card" for the sport you wish to try out for.  Feel free to stop by the Athletic Office with any questions regarding tryouts.

 

Are you interested in joining the yearbook staff for next year?  Do you want to control what goes into the yearbook and learn more about photography and graphic design?  The yearbook staff is now accepting new staffers, if you want to join put Yearbook Workshop class (0300) on your schedule for next year and get an application from Mrs. Stout in Room 106.  Applications are due by schedule conference day, Feb. 23.

 

 

Attention Spring Dual Credit Students: Be aware that spring course registration is now open on both the SLU-1818 and UMSL-ACP websites. MBU and MSU registrations will be available in your classrooms. If you have any questions, check with your dual credit teachers or Mrs. Neighbors regarding signing up for your courses. Pay attention to all deadlines. If you are interested in applying for a Spring Dual Credit Scholarship, applications are available in the Counseling Center.

 

The cat is out of the bag: our Spring Break 2018 destination is Scotland & Ireland! If you'd like to enroll for this trip, please come by room 339 for more information.

 

Cornerstone will meet on Wednesday mornings in the Auditorium lobby at 6:45 am.  Both students and staff are welcome to join. 

Stop by the Java Jungle Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays outside of gym A before 7:05am and get a coffee, hot tea or hot chocolate to start your day! 

SENIORS

 

Seniors should start bringing your acceptance letters to Mrs. Genthon in the Counseling office for the Wall of Acceptance.  If you have received any awards or scholarships, please bring that letter in as well for Senior Night.


The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation Scholarship application is now available in the Counseling Center. Application deadline is March 15, 2017.

 

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES

Now Hiring – The Pavilion at Lemay is looking for Lifeguards (training is available for those who are not certified) and Laborers.  For more information, please email Brett Olson at bolson@stlouisco.com or call 314-615-8877.   Flyer is posted in Counseling office for more information.

Westport Car Wash located at 3417 Lemay Ferry Road, 63125 is looking to hire 1 or 2 people for afternoon and weekend hours.  If you are interested, please call 314-894-7200 to apply. 

Grace Hill Settlement Water Head Start has volunteer opportunities for students during the school year and summer. Students would be helping with children ages 4-7 with play, reading, playground supervision and light chores. Preschool hours 8:30-noon

  • Early Dismissals: Parents, if your student has an early dismissal, please remember to call the attendance office ahead of time so that your student will be able to leave on time as needed.
