Shout out to the Freshmen Basketball team defeated Fox last night 44-34!  Way to go!





The Winter Dance is next Saturday, February 8.  The theme is Roaring 20’s.  The dance will be in Gym A from 7:00 - 10:00 pm.  Tickets are $10 (in advance, $30 at the door the night of the dance) and will be sold at all lunches next week, February 3 - 7.  Tickets are cash or card only, no checks will be accepted.  All fines must be paid before you will be allowed to purchase a ticket.  Guests from other schools need to have a guest permission form signed by their principal and no guest tickets will be sold at the door. 


 Congratulations to the Winter Dance Court Members.  Voting will take place at the dance.

Are you a Senior who speaks and writes in two languages? If yes, you could qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy.  This honor, given for knowing any 2 languages, includes a special seal on your diploma and possible college credit.  If you're interested in the Seal, come speak with Mrs. Johnson in room 232 or Ms. Rosa in room 228 before February 14th.





The 2020 Variety Talent Show auditions will be THIS Thursday, January 30th, from 2:20pm-5:00pm in the Nottlemann Auditorium. All current MHS students are welcome to audition for a chance to showcase their talent at the February 13th Variety Show. 



Auditions for the Spring Play, Romeo and Juliet: Modern Translation and Modern Adaptation, are Tuesday Feb. 4 and Wednesday Feb. 5 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the Drama Center. All students are welcome to audition!

If you would like to bring a monologue to perform, you may do so. However, a monologue is not required to audition for the show. 



Seniors!  Please tell your parents that the deadline for buying a yearbook senior "baby" ad (senior recognition ad) is quickly approaching!  You can create your ad at  Senior ads are due February 13th!



Attention Juniors & Sophomores: Anyone interested in applying for the STL CAPS program next year should apply now. The deadline for application is March 6, 2020, however you are encouraged to apply early. Apply online at



Attention Students in Spring Dual Credit Courses: Enrollment has begun for spring semester Dual Credit Courses. Check with your DC Teachers regarding how to register for spring courses and pay attention to each college's deadline. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship to assist with tuition payments for spring courses, the application forms are now available in the Counseling Center. Deadline to turn in the scholarship application is Friday, January 31.

  • Absences: If your student is absent from school, please call the attendance line to report their absence at 314-467-6020. Please state and spell your name, your student's name, their grade level, and the date(s) they are absent. Thank you.
  • Early Dismissals: Parents, if your student has an early dismissal, please remember to call the attendance office ahead of time so that your student will be able to leave on time as needed.
  • In the event school is closed due to inclement weather, staff and parents will be notified via SchoolMessenger alert (text, app notification, phone call and/or email). You can also check our website,, or watch KMOV, KSDK or KTVI for closure information.

Student Parking:  MHS is sold out for parking this year.  Some local businesses rent parking spaces, however MHS is not affliated with those businesses.  If your student is parking at a business, please make sure they have secured an agreement with that facility.  Unauthorized parked vehicles are subject to being towed at that vehicle’s owner’s expense.
