Senior Families,


The Class of 2024 is in the homestretch, with only 9 days left in their high school career. Although this is an exciting and busy time for our students, it's crucial for seniors to maintain their focus on academics. Working diligently to excel in all classes and fulfill graduation requirements should remain their top priority. Now, let's highlight the senior events lined up for these final days:

  • Friday, May 17 - Mock Crash Event + Senior Picnic:

    • Tickets for the picnic will be sold Friday morning. Please bring $10 - cash only!

    • And PLEASE keep an eye on the weather for Friday. If there is rain, the Mock Crash WILL STILL occur outside. Please dress accordingly and bring umbrellas. For the Senior Picnic, we will still plan to hold it, but the location may be moved to inside. You can still bring your games to play in the gym! We will make a call about the weather closer to the time of the picnic.


  • Saturday, May 18 - Prom:

    • Doors open at 6:00 PM at The Falls in Columbia, Illinois. To be eligible to attend prom students must have purchased a ticket and must also be in attendance at school on Friday, May 17. We always want and encourage all of our students to attend a full day of school everyday, but to be eligible for after school activities they must be at school for a minimum of a half day. If students are absent two or more blocks on Friday they will not be able to attend prom.

    • Students must arrive at The Falls by 7:00 PM on Friday to enter the dance. Students who arrive after 7:00 PM will not be allowed into the venue. More information on Prom can be found: HERE

  • Monday, May 20 - Memory Walk at Elementary Schools: Seniors will be released at 1:50 PM to head to their respective elementary schools to visit with former teachers, celebrate their success as a graduating senior, and share memories of their time in the district. Many of these schools have already communicated specific info with their former students.

  • May 24, 28 and 29 - Senior Final Exams: Calendar to exam schedule: HERE

  • Tuesday, May 28 - Senior Sunset: Mehlville High Stadium, 7:45 PM - 8:30 PM

  • Friday, May 31 - Graduation Practice: MHS, Gym A (8:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

    • Graduation practice is mandatory for seniors if they plan to participate in the graduation ceremony. Practice will run from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM in Gym A of Mehlville High.

    • Students will receive their caps and gowns during practice, along with other necessary items. DO NOT DECORATE YOUR CAP. Caps will be checked prior to the graduation ceremony.

    • BRING TEXTBOOKS - Put a slip of paper or post-it note inside, indicating your name & teacher's name. 

    • BRING CHROMEBOOK/LAPTOP and CHARGER. 

    • All PARKING TICKETS must be paid through Revtrak or at practice. 


  • Sunday, June 2 - Graduation: Chaifetz Arena (St. Louis University), 1:30 PM CST

    • STUDENT ARRIVAL: Seniors MUST be inside of Chaifetz Arena no later than 12:30 PM. This is very important. Students should be dressed and standing in the practice gym at 12:30 PM. Please remind your student to arrive early enough to park, walk to the arena and be in gown by 12:30 PM. Google Maps LINK TO PARKING GARAGE

    • Tickets: No tickets are required for the ceremony; seating for family and friends is on a first come first serve basis once the gates open to the public at 12:30 PM. For those unable to attend the ceremony in person, the event will be streamed on the Mehlville High YouTube Channel.

    • Parking:  Parking is available for FREE in the Olive/Compton garage, on Compton Ave. (See Map HERE). Guests needing a handicap parking space in the Olive/Compton garage should enter off of Olive Street. For more information on parking and accessibility, please click HERE.

    • Entrance to Arena:

      • Senior studentswill enter through the VIP Doors on the West side of the venue (See Map HERE).

      • Family and friends will enter through GATES A, B, or C. For quicker entry, please consider bringing a small bag or NO bag. All bags will be subject to search. ARRIVE EARLY ENOUGH to get through bag check and find a seat.

    • Security and Prohibited Items: READ all rules and regulations for Chaifetz Arena: HERE

    • Seating and Views: Ask your graduate where they will be seated (they will find out at Graduation Practice). We will share with them if they are sitting on the stage left or stage right side of the floor. This will help you choose the area best suited for you to view graduation. Seating is on a first come first served basis. The only assigned seating will be for graduates and MHS faculty.

    • Restrictions: No one is allowed on the arena floor besides the graduation participants. You will NOT be allowed to take photos on the arena floor. You must meet your graduate(s) outside of the arena after the ceremony.

    • Photos: A professional photo of your student will be taken at graduation and will be available for purchase after June 2nd from Wagner Portrait Group. Information on the purchase of these pictures will be provided to your senior in graduation packet they will receive at the mandatory graduation practice.

  • Sunday - Monday, June 2-3: Senior Last Blast event, Sponsored by Panther Nation

We know these last 9 days will be filled with excitement and anticipation. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time, with any questions, as you prepare your student to wrap up this wonderful chapter. We are so proud of our seniors and cannot wait to celebrate them in these closing weeks!
